Obituary for Theresa Rivas Theresa Rivas (Vega) 104, of North Tonawanda, Wednesday (May 16, 2018), surrounded by family in Northgate Nursing Home. Mrs. Rivas was born to Florencio and Narcisa (Ruano) Vega, on February 24, 1914 in Spain. She lived there and in France before moving to America at the age of 15.

Her family settled in Akron, Ohio and later moved to North Tonawanda. She was married to the late Manuel Rivas for more than 50 years and the couple resided in North Tonawanda. Mrs. Rivas worked as a housekeeper at DeGraff Memorial Hospital and her husband worked at Crane Company.

Mrs. Rivas was a member of the North Tonawanda Senior Center. She enjoyed taking part in activities and playing Bingo. Theresa is survived by Cathy (Thaddeus) Kciuk, the late Rose (Lawrence) Galassi, sister of the late Mariano Vega, grandmother of Eileen, David, and Gail Galassi, Jen, and Jessie Kciuk, great grandmother of Nicholas, Jesse, Leah, and Shayna, aunt of David Gorman.

Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 PM at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda, Where services will follow.
