Obituary for Thomas A. Lawsky Orange – Thomas A. Lawsky, 77, of Orange passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on May 26, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Athol on June 3, 1940 the son of the late Alfred and the late Mary (Powers) Lawsky. He grew up in Athol graduating from Athol High School in 1958.

He was one of the original employees of Stan’s Sooper. He served six years in the Massachusetts Air National Guard. In 1998 he retired from Massachusetts Electric Company as a crew leader with 33 years of service.

Tom was a life member of the American Lithuanian Naturalization Club, a life member of the former Athol Rod and Gun club, and a member of the American Legion Post 102. Tom enjoyed fishing and the great outdoors. You could find him boating and fishing in the Quabbin Reservoir and Connecticut River, as well as ice fishing in the winter months.

He enjoyed the change of seasons in New England, especially the winters and being out in the snow. For twenty plus years he and a group of friends had a yearly tradition of spending a week fishing at Pierce Pond in Maine. Tom looked forward to annual sauerkraut making parties with friends and family.

He especially enjoyed hosting his annual Christmas Eve gatherings. Attending car shows was another favorite activity. Tom was an accomplished woodworker and made many beautiful gifts for his Family.

He leaves two daughters, Terri White and her partner Steven Mayhew of Colrain, Lynn Lawsky and her partner Tommy Richard of Winchendon, two granddaughters, Erika White of Blackstone, and Kerri White of Orange, one great granddaughter Kayla Quinn, and several cousins and close friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 10 -11 a.m. at the Fiske-Murphy and Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange. Graveside services will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.
