Obituary Thomas (Tom) Augustine Tikusis, born April 27, 1949, passed into eternal life Sunday, February 10, 2019. He is survived by his wife Jean Ann (Markko) Tikusis, sons Jess Augustine (Carolyn), Jeremiah James (Kristi Page) and Jason Edward Tikusis. He rejoins his mother Mary June (Synesael) Tikusis and father Stanley Richard Tikusis.

He is fondly remembered by his siblings Fredric, Janet (Gossum), Michael (Cindy), Edward, David (Lisa), Theresa (John) Halloran, Julie (Rich) Kuse, Daniel and Linda (Steve) Lehman. His legacy continues through his grandsons, Fisher Thomas Tikusis, Reilly Page and Jacob Page. Tom graduated from the Western Illinois University with a degree in botany.

His career would never be limited by his field of study. Tom was first occupied after graduation as a lab technician, where he met his wife of 40 years. While work brought his growing family from Illinois to Wisconsin and Minnesota, the experience gained manufacturing printed circuit boards fostered his vocation.

Tom retired from his 25+ year tenure at Oak Creek, Wisconsin’s Electrotek Corporation in 2014. Tom will live on through his works created out of love and respect for all living things. His study of botany flowered into a prolific apple orchard and spectacular vegetable gardens.

The trees he planted throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota will be his memorial. Tom revered woodworking, culminating in the construction of his log cabin and hunting camp at Deertrack Lodge in the town of Ogema, Price County, Wisconsin. He raised chickens, turkeys and geese at Golden Dog Orchard, the farm he spent his life pursuing.

He was a man of the field, with his golden retriever, Mitch, always at his side. Tom brought the bounty of the local waters to the dinner table, where no chef was his equal. Tom made his dreams reality.

His passion for life was contagious, as he shared his experience freely and enthusiastically. God bless you, Tom Tikusis. You will be with us, always.
