Thomas Arthur Rule, Sr., 80, formerly of Cowen, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018. He was born April 17, 1938 in Ansted to James and Frances Arthur Rule and was a truck driver by trade. Tom was Baptist by faith and was a gun enthusiast.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Civil War History. Tom is survived by his children Cheryl (husband Dan) Wion of Missouri, Nancy Rule (companion Thomas Sparks) of Webster Springs, Lori (husband Raymond) Mustian of Virginia, and Thomas (wife Brenda) Rule, Jr. of Webster Springs; brothers and sisters Richard (wife Kay) Rule of Maryland, Nancy (husband Herbert) Pugh of Webster Springs, and Annabelle Green of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Ellen Rule; daughters Karen Campbell and Mary Handschumacker; brother Henry Rule; and brother-in-law Pete Green.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Tom’s life will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen.
