Thomas Koch, 85, of Lopatcong Township, NJ passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at his home. Thomas was born in Harmony Township, NJ on October 3, 1933 to the late John S. and Melissa Pence Koch. Thomas is a retired driver for Frey’s Motor Express of Phillipsburg, NJ, TransBridge Bus Line of Easton, PA and NORWESCAP of Phillipsburg.

He attended Phillipsburg High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Thomas was an avid sports fan, especially Phillipsburg Sports. He was a racing fan and enjoyed playing cards.

Thomas also enjoyed extended visits with his niece Vivian Miller of Tucson, AZ. Most importantly, Thomas loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, having never missed an event in their lives. Thomas was a member of Bethel Memorial Baptist Church in Palmer Township, PA.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Sleight Koch; daughter, Brenda Toth and her husband, Dale of Lopatcong Township; son, William Koch and his wife, Patricia of Palmer Township, PA; grandchildren, Ryan Toth and wife Jacqui, Chad Toth and his wife Kate, Allison Toth and fiancé Jeff DeSane, Mathew Kichline and his wife Kira, Erin Kichline, Brittney Mickey and her husband Colin, and Logan Koch; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Nolan Toth and Monroe and Bennett Kichline; sister, Flora Gargiulo and her husband, Donald; many nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his daughter, Kim L. Koch Kichline; brothers, Donald, James, and Raymond Koch; sisters, Mary Reppert and Rebecca Koch. .

A Funeral Service for Thomas will be held on Monday, May 6 , 2019 at 11am at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held from 10am until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Harmony Township, NJ In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Thomas’s name to Bethel Memorial Baptist Church; 715 Chestnut Lane; Easton, PA 18045 or NORWESCAP; 201 Broad Street;; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
