MARLBOROUGH- Thomas Mason, II, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at home. Born in Littleton, NH, he was the son of the late Elliott and Mildred (Diercks) Mason. He was educated in Westborough schools and was a 1964 graduate of Westborough High School.

He also attended and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. During the Vietnam Era he served with the U. S. Air Force from 1969 to 1971. Tom was employed as a bartender for Kennedy’s Pub and for the Olive Garden, both in Marlborough.

He was a former football coach at Hopkinton High School, was a generous volunteer and was an avid New England sports fan. Tom is survived by one sister, Connie I. Mason of Worcester; a nephew, Jeff Gemma; a niece, Amanda Gemma; two grandnieces, Marissa Gemma and Scarlet Allain and one grandnephew, Brayden Allain. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, November 1, from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Pickering and Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Relay For Life, Marlborough.
