Thomas’ Obituary On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, Thomas Preston Barket passed away at the age of 74. Affectionately known as “Doc” to many of his students. Thomas taught high school and college chemistry for several years in both South Dakota and Kansas.

He was known as someone who loved learning and who never met a stranger or food that he didn’t like. Thomas was born June 2, 1944 in Kansas City, MO, to Alex and Kathleen Barket. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister, Linda.

Thomas will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Katherine and his children; Laura, Theresa (Dane), and Mary. He will also be remembered by his siblings; Mary Kay, Alexander, Susan, and Laurie, as well as his nieces, nephews, friends, and students. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14th, from 7-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m. at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave.

, KCMO. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 15th, at 10 a.m. at Saint Thomas More Parish, 11822, Holmes Rd. , KCMO.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial donations, in memory of Thomas, can be made to Rockhurst High School, 9301 Stateline Rd.
