Thomas Ray’s Obituary Thomas Ray Powell, 87, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Landmark Nursing Home in Collins, MS . He was born Tuesday, March 15, 1932. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM with funeral services to be held at 2:00 P.M. at Calhoun Baptist Church in Hot Coffee, Mississippi.

The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Bro Glen Edmonds will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements.

(601) 849-5031. Mr. Powell was a member of Calhoun Baptist Church in Hot Coffee where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War Era & Peacetime, where he served as a cook.

He spent countless hours recounting stories about his life adventures as long as someone would sit and listen. He also loved to cook for his family & friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Glynda Mayfield Powell; his parents E.P. Powell and Lessie Stringer Powell; his daughter, Darlene Powell; his grandson, Jeramy Easterling; his siblings, John H. Powell and Ella Wayne Jones .

Survivors include his daughters, Connie White and her husband Larry, and Patti Ishee and her husband Ronnie, both of Taylorsville; his Grandchildren, Lori Bounds and her husband Chad of Taylorsville, Roxanne Powell of Taylorsville, Heather Miles and her husband Bobby Joe of Brandon, Jared White and his wife Morgan of Gainesville, FL, Heath White of Taylorsville, Lauren Molina and her husband Bernabe of Seminary, Luke Ishee of Hattiesburg; Twelve Great-grandchildren; One Great-Great-Grandchild; his siblings, William T. Powell and Ina Lou Worthy; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jared White, Heath White, Bernabe Molina, Luke Ishee, Darrell Mayfield Jr., Sid Worthy, Myron Bontrager, and Neal Bontrager. Online guestbook may be signed at www.
