Obituary of Thomas Pintagro Thomas Sebastiano Pintagro, 87 of, Jamestown, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Lutheran Home. Thomas was born June 20, 1931, in Tortorici, Sicily, the son of the late Giuseppe and Concetta Pintagro. As a young man he learned carpentry and served in the Italian Air Force.

He came to the united states in 1961, and became a master carpenter. He was a member of the Local 66 Carpenters Union for 56 years, and he also served as Union Steward on numerous job sites where he worked. He was widely regarded as one of the best finish carpenters in the area.

Thomas will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and a lover of all animals, particularly his precious kitties. He had a passion for cooking, in particular his homemade pasta sauce, and took great pride in his vegetable garden. He loved to cook for and share his creations with others.

He was also a member of the Marco Polo Club for over 40 years and was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. Surviving are his son and daughter in law, Thomas J. and Catherine Del Pilar Pintagro, of Jamestown, a sister Concettina, of Messina, Sicily, an Aunt, Dorothy Galati, of Jamestown, and several nieces and nephews, both in the United States and in Sicily. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Nancy Racitano Pintagro, whom he married June 1, 1943, and who died June 30, 2006, two sisters, Fortunata and Carmella, both of Tortorici, Sicily, and a brother, Vincenzo, also of Tortorici, Sicily.

Thomas’s family would like to thank the staff at the Lutheran Home for the care they gave to him. Also, the family would like to thank in particular, Dr. Joseph Cardamone, Dr. James Fitzgerald, Dr. Timothy O’Brian, Dr. Albert Persia, and Dr. Umamahesware Vejendla for the wonderful care they gave to Thomas throughout the past 20 years. He and his family were blessed not only by your expertise, but by your very genuine, caring natures.

The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Tuesday at Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, where a Christian wake service will be led at 6:45pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church. The Rev.
