Services will be 2 P.M. Sunday, March 31, 2019, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Pastor Loran Rule officiating. Final disposition will be cremation directed by McCoy Funeral Home.

Tomas was born November 21, 1961 in Coahuila, Mexico to Cornelio and Tomasa (Mares) Fuentes. He graduated from Sterling City High School May 18, 1981. He then attended TSTC where he received his degree in welding.

He has worked at the Waste Water Plant for the City of Sweetwater for 25 plus years. He become a devoted father to his only child Grabiela Fuentes on October 19, 1997. Grabiela Fuentes blessed him with three beautiful granddaughters Soraya, Rosa, and Reina who he loved and devoted most of his time to.

He met the love of his life and soul mate, Donna (Gonzales) Fuentes March 27, 2010. They married then married February 26, 2016, and it was then that he gained a stepson Nicholas Carney and two more grandchildren, Oliver Marshall and Penelope Quinn. Tomas is loved and adored by all his nieces and nephews.

His favorite pastime was spending time in the water, fishing, and hunting. Tomas has touched so many lives and will be missed dearly by all of his friends and family. He is survived by his beloved wife Donna Fuentes and his daughter Grabiela Fuentes both of Sweetwater, his father Cornelio Fuentes of Sterling City, TX, a brother Gabriel and his wife Misti Fuentes of Boerne, TX, a sister Araseli Ortiz of Sterling City, TX, and 5 grandchildren Soraya Escobedo, Oliver Marshall, Rosa Fuentes, Penelope Quinn, Reina Vasquez.

He was preceded in death by his Mother Tomasa M. Fuentes, a brother Cornelio Fuentes, Jr., a sister Rosa M. Fuentes, and best friend Jefferson L. Barr. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Fuentes, Hayden Fuentes, Nicholas Carney, Jody Hernandez, Fabian Vasquez, Charlie Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Barr, Leonicio Ortiz, Jr. Jim Galbraitho, Pablo Mata.
