Tommy McFadden October 30, 1938 – March 12, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Tommy McFadden was born the 13th of 14 children on October 30, 1938 to the late Samuel McFadden and Doshia McFadden in Lynchburg, SC. He departed this life on March 12, 2019, surrounded by family members. Tommy was married to the late Julia Mae McFadden and from this union three children were born: Regina, Linda, and Dale.

He married his second wife, Minnie Johnson McFadden in 2005. Tommy was educated in the Lee County School System. He joined the Air Force in 1961, and served for 21 and a half years.

He retired with Honorable Discharge. After his retirement, Tommy earned two Associate Degrees in Heating and Air Conditioning. He joined St. Matthew AME Church at young age, where he served faithfully as an usher and was given the honor of being named Honorary Trustee.

Tommy leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Minnie McFadden; children: Regina (Albert) Essel, Linda Hawthrone, and Dale (Leon) Wilson; grandchildren: Michelle, Albert, Jr., and DaLeah; great-grandchildren: Antuanette, Amena, and Michaela; stepchildren; a sister, Retha M. Graham of Lynchburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his brothers: John Henry, Marcus, Clarence, Herbert, Waymon, Woodrow, Samuel, Jr., and Louis; and his sisters: Eula, Julia, Ethel Mae, Mary, and Mary. Public Viewing will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job’s Mortuary.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at St. Matthew AME Church 226 Main Street Lynchburg, SC 29080, with Pastor Rutledge Officiating and Rev. Donna Jackson, Eulogist. Interment will be held 12pm on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.

Family will receive friends at the home, 1050 West Sherwood Drive Sumter, SC 29153.
