Travis S. Kranek, 36, of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away suddenly Friday July 6, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, from heart complications. He was born January 11, 1982 in Steubenville, OH, the son of the late Janice (Walters) Kranek and Gary G. Kranek of Brilliant, OH. Travis was a technician at PSX, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA.

He enjoyed troubleshooting and computers and was a slot technician for 19 years. He liked carpentry, documentaries, and history, especially researching the Titanic. He was also an avid Star Trek fan.

In addition to his father Gary, he is survived by his wife, Jingjing (Xu) Kranek, whom he married October 1, 2015; a sister, Jamie (Shawn) Gegick of Wintersville, OH; a niece, Logan Gegick; and many friends. Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and also on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Ater, officiating.

Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed in Travis’s memory to the Jefferson County Humane Society, P.O. Box 233, Steubenville, OH 43952. Offer condolences at www.
