Obituary for Velma Bueltel Velma Bueltel, age 83 of Carroll, died Friday, July 13, 2018 at St Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at St John Paul II Parish – St Lawrence Church in Carroll. The celebrant will be Fr.
Shinoj Jose. Music will be by Kate Cuddy, Abby Murrane and the St. Lawrence Choir. Lector will be Mark McLellan.
Gift Bearers will be Makayla Bueltel, Baylie Bueltel, and Abigail Bueltel. Eucharistic Ministers will be Jim Bueltel and Emily Behrens. Casket Bearers will be Sam Behrens, Tony Behrens, Aaron Lynch, Ryan Lynch, Tyler Bueltel, Chase Prebeck, Nicholas McLellan, Devin Bueltel, Dylan Bueltel and Brandon Bueltel.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be: Amanda Kielman, Allison Lynch, Mackenzie Sehic, Megan Nieuwsma, Brandi Bueltel, Baylie Bueltel, Abbey Bueltel and Makayla Bueltel. The Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas will form an honor guard for the funeral mass. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, after 4 p.m. on Monday, where there will be a Rosary prayed at 5 p.m. by the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas and a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. Tuesday morning at St John Paul II Parish – St Lawrence Church in Carroll. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for Kuemper Catholic Schools Foundation. sharpfuneral.com. Velma was born on February, 15, 1935 in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter Albert and Frances (Truhe) Eischeid. Velma grew up in Roselle, Iowa and attended school at Holy Angels School.
Velma was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. On September 29, 1956 Velma was united in marriage to Duane Bueltel at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle. Following their marriage the couple farmed in Templeton until retirement.
After retirement the couple moved to Carroll. Velma enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and going to all their activities. She was a member of the St John Paul II Parish – St. Lawrence Church in Carroll.
Left to celebrate Velma’s life is her husband of over 61 years, Duane, of Carroll; eight children: Diane (Norm) Behrens of Wall Lake, Sheryl (Tom) Lynch of Carroll, Dave (Gail) Bueltel of Templeton, Laurie Bueltel of Carroll, Karen (Bill) Prebeck of Templeton, Kathy (Mark) McLellan of Johnston, Mike (Jodie) Bueltel of Templeton and Jim (Kristi) Bueltel of Waconia, MN. 19 grandchildren: Sam (Emily) Behrens of Granger, Amanda (Blake) Kielman of Altoona , Tony (Abby) Behrens of Carroll, Nathan Lynch, Aaron (Kate) Lynch of Omaha, Ryan (Ashley) Lynch of Omaha, Allison (Chad) Lynch of Dedham, Abigail, Tyler and Makayla Bueltel of Templeton, Chase Prebeck of Templeton, Mackenzie (Adi) Sehic of Johnston, Megan (Lance) Nieuwsma of Pella, Nicholas McLellan of Manhattan KS, Brandi, Devin and Baylie Bueltel of Templeton, Dylan and Brandon Bueltel of Waconia MN. 12 great-grandchildren: Max, Macy, and Owen Behrens, Carly and Lauren Kielman, Hadley and Mya Behrens, Avery and Quinn Lynch, Noah and Harper Lynch and Wyatt Nieuwsma.
Her siblings: Cliff (Jean) Eischeid, Ruth (Ray) Brincks, Verena (Roman) Wittrock, Lenora (Vince) Gross, Janice Nepple, Alberta Meiners, and Theresa (Dale) Schlichte; Sister-in-Laws: Arlene Eischeid, Vernell (Earl) Wittrock and Jolene Handlos and many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives. Velma was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; son-in-law Murray Jon Hunt; her parents; sisters: Delores (Walt) Nees, Marion (Melvin) Bauer; her brother: Marvin (Elise) Eischeid, sister-in-law: Theresa Bueltel, brother-in-law’s: Duane Nepple, Paul Handlos, and Wilfred Meiners.
