Venera K. Williams, 93, of Jena passed away on May 13, 2019. She was born on September 19, 1925 to the late John and Irene Philmon. Venera enjoyed spending time gardening and traveling.

Before he joined the military in World War II, Venera was married to her husband of 52 years, Harry J. Williams, Jr., and they started their family in Jacksonville, Florida. She is survived by son Donald J. Williams, Jr., wife Sue, grandchildren Debbie (Greg), Tricia (Dave), and Stephen (Lauren); and great-grandchildren Connor and Max; daughter Kathy Tucker, husband Carl “Sonny” Tucker, granddaughter Stacy M. (Ross), and great-grandchildren Annaliese, Elijah, Elliot, and Evangeline. Venera was preceded in death by her husband Harry Williams, Jr. and her son Jay Williams.

A special thanks to James and Annette Philmon and Haven Hospice for the recent care of our mother. Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel, with Vaughn Farnell officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery outside of Sanderson, Florida.
