Vera Cha January 10, 2019 Vera Cha HELPER-Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Vera Matthews Cha passed away January 10, 2019 at the age of 87. She was born on July 6, 1931 to Glynn and Iris Biggs Matthews in Malad, Idaho. She spent her early childhood in Idaho, and at the age of 12 moved with her family to Kenilworth, Utah.

This is where she met her sweetheart Laurence Cha. They were married on June 21, 1950 in Price, Utah. Vera and Laurence spent the majority Death: January 10, 2019 of their married life residing in Helper, where they raised their three children in the home they built together.

Vera perfected too many hobbies to list, but some of her favorite pastimes were playing cards, crafting, bowling and reminiscing with family and friends. Although she didn’t have an official nursing degree, she thoroughly enjoyed taking care of others. She spent her golden years with Laurence on numerous trips in their “home on wheels”; and often included the grandkids.

Survived by her children, Michael A. Cha, Laura L. (Van) Cook, both of Helper, Linda (David) Dimick, Price; brother, Jack (Della) Matthews; sisters-in-law, Marion Cha, Maria Matthews; grandchildren, Tony (Candace) Cook, Janell (J.R.) Nelson, Aaron (Paige) Dimick, Keisha (Aaron) Stefanoff; great-grandchildren, Shantae, Claire, Mason, Bella, Mckenleigh, Gavin, Kenzlee; and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Laurence; brother Glynn Jr. Matthews; grandson, Jeremy Cook; brothers-in-law, Fred Cha, Joe Cha, Johnny Scarsi; and special sister-in-law, Charmaine Matthews. Vera’s family would like to express their appreciation for the kindness, love and care that Vera received throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers Vera and her family request that a kind deed be done in her honor. Funeral service, Monday, January 14, 2019, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to service.

Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Vera online at www.
