Vera Shereyko November 04, 1928 – March 16, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Vera G. (nee: Poulsen) Shereyko, formerly of Perth Amboy, passed peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Senior Home Nursing Center in Woodbridge. Born in Fords, Vera lived in Denmark for 14 years where she graduated from high school, and Pittsburgh, PA, before settling in Perth Amboy. She was a former Telephone Operator for NJ Bell in Perth Amboy.

She was a member of the Danish Sisterhood Lodge #36 in Edison, the West Nine Golf Association and the Plainfield Curling Club, both in South Plainfield and the NJ Lapidary Society. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Peter Shereyko, who died in 2008; three sisters: May Lynch, Elena Rose, and Tove Peterson; and two brothers, Johan and Svend Poulsen. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 21, 2019, from 10 am to 12 Noon, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ, 08863, with a funeral service at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to: The Danish Sisterhood Scholarship Fund c/o the Danish Home of Edison, 855 New Durham Road, Edison, NJ 08817.
