Verlena’s Obituary Do not think of her as gone away, her journey has just begun. Life holds so many facets, this is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and no years.

Verlena Jean “Jeannie” Parsons McComas, 59, of Huntington, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She is preceded in death along with her parents; Bonnie Lee Parsons Roark and Sharon Rose Parsons; daughter, Shalena Melva Louise Parsons; and son, James William Matthew “Matt” Keller; two granddaughters, Alexandria Gabriel “Gabby” Parsons and Savannah Elizabeth Parsons, all of Huntington.

Also, surviving is her two sisters; Kimberly Parsons Taylor of Milton and Katherine Parsons Marsh of Huntington; and one brother, Eddie Lee Parsons of Proctorville. She has several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; whom she loved so very, very much. Verlena loved to write poetry, some of which was published and some she had won awards for.

She loved to take drives in the country, going to yards sales, collecting antiques, cooking and being with her family and friends. She has a very funny sense of humor and could pull off the funniest pranks. The family would like to thank the staff in SICU at Cabell Huntington Hospital for the wonderful care that Verlena received while being admitted. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today, how nothing, but our sadness can really pass away and think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched. For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so very much.

We love you more. Online condolences may be expressed to the family below.
