Verna Jean Baldner, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Verna was born on July 8, 1943 in Rochester, IN to Vern and Wilma Fern (Bishop) Dixon. Verna was the proud mother of four and a beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, relative and friend.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Verna is survived by her loving children: Clayton (Mary) Baldner of Hammond, IN, Barry (Gina) Baldner of Flat Rock, IL, Starlene (Raymond) Shimer of Lake Station, IN and Kerena Tyssen of South Bend. Verna is also survived by a sister, Ann Shoulders of Illinois, as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Per the family’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. The family may gather privately at a later date to celebrate Verna’s life. Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
