Verna Jean Shearin , March 26, 1933 — December 05, 2018

Verna Jean Farnell Shearin was born in Day, Florida on March 26, 1933. She entered into her final rest on December 5, 2018 in Lakeland, Florida. Verna Jean grew up in Day, Florida until she met the love of her life and married Francis M. Shearin in Dixie County, Florida.

The couple moved with their family to Lakeland, Florida in 1970. Verna is preceeded in her homegoing by her husband of more than 30 years, Francis Shearin, two daughters Debra Lynn Shearin and Marion “Elaine” Trevillian and two grandsons, Preston Wayne Trevillian and Stephen William Shearin. She is survived by her daughter Linda Langford (Florida) and son Randy Shearin Sr. (Florida).

Additionally, she is survived by her sisters Betty Beck and Patricia Folsom as well as her brother Vaughn Farnell all of Florida. Further, Verna is survived by her grandchildren Randy Shearin Jr. (Tamara), Michael Shearin (Marcie), (Florida) David Shearin, (Florida) Scotty Davidson, (Florida) Daniel Davidson, (Florida), Chelsea Gutierrez (Abraham) (Texas) and Anthony Langford (Florida). Her legacy continues with her nine greatgrandchildren and many neices and nephews.

Remembering Verna, some would remember her in her younger married years with her husband on their many missions trips when they would work to help build new churches in Palm Beach County, Florida and even one in Polk County, Florida. Others may remember her as she sang beautifully in the church choir and sat in expectation each Sunday in Sunday School at New Home Baptist Church where she was a long-time member. There will be others who will remember her as she walked with her companion and friend Princess.

Still some will remember the years she spent cooking at various restuarants such as Days Inn Restaurant and Motel, Yukon Charley’s and Eat A Bite Restaurant. After 35 years of cooking she retired from that season in her life. One of the fondest and most rewarding times of her life which she often spoke about was the time she went to Trucking School and went to travel the open road across the country delivering produce and getting the opportunity to see so much more of God’s Beautiful Creation.

Verna Jean Shearin was certainly a woman who appreciated the life God had given her, she lived her life to fullest and enjoyed her time, her family, her friends, her work and her loved ones. If you knew Verna, she could not help but touch the hearts of those she knew, so if you knew her then you were blessed enough to be touched by one of God’s best angels.
