OBITUARY Verna Jo Sisson July 6, 1931 – July 15, 2018 Verna Jo Sisson will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was born on July 6, 1931 to Arthur Edward and Verna Bell Smith in El Paso, Texas. She went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2018 at the age of 87.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Reed (Bret) and their children, Eric (Amber) and Savannah and her son, Michael Cowen (Terri) and his children, December, Haley (Ryan), and Jared and their mother, Marilyn and great grandchildren, Lorelei and Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her son, Bill Cowen. Jo was a drum major at Ysleta High School in her younger days.

She retired from the State of Texas DMV as an Investigator. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs fan. She loved life and blessed those around her.

She was lovingly called Mama Jo by her church family. Services will be Saturday, July 21. Visitation 9:00am at Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home, 8817 Dyer St., with Graveside Service 10:00am at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by Fellowship 11:00am at Del Sol Church East, 11501 Vista del Sol.

In lieu of flowers, her wishes were for any donations to go to the Children’s Ministry at Del Sol Church East, 11501 Vista del Sol, El Paso, Texas 79936. FAMILY Cheryl Reed, Daughter Michael Cowen, Son Arthur E Smith, Father Verna B Wilcox, Mother Bill Cowen, Son Miss Sisson also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
