Obituary for Vernon Biddle Hammer Vernon Biddle Hammer, age 83, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, formerly of Athens, Tennessee and Sarasota, Florida passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, following a brief illness. He was born on December 1, 1934, to Joe and Fannie Hammer in Rutledge, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Melva Douglas Hammer; son: Rusty Hammer He is survived by daughter: Tawona; brothers: Roland Hammer, of Sevierville, Tennessee, Walter Hammer (Patty), Dean Hammer (Brenda), of Morristown, Tennessee; sisters: Rachel Yount, of Sweetwater, Tennessee and Ruth Ashby (Curtis) , of Fayetteville, Tennessee; special aunt Lorene (Sally) Hammer, Rutledge, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.
