Veronica Sue “Ronni” Koch, 76, of Portsmouth, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 6, 1942 in Rarden, a daughter of the late Harry Earl and Chloe Edith Boyd George. Veronica retired after more than 20 years of service as a secretary with Scioto County Job & Family Services and she was a Protestant.

More than anything, she loved spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Chester Ralph Koch, Jr. of Otway and Debra K. (James Vincent) Schwamberger of Sciotoville; two sisters, Fannie Moore of West Portsmouth and Freddie Dunaway of Portsmouth; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Lynn Baldwin of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Veronica Rae Koch, Vincent Reigh Schwamberger, Amanda Sue (Jason) Jenkins, Sarah Elizabeth (J.R.) Bellamy, Katrishia R. (Richie) Eddy, Mahaliah (Joseph) Koenig, Josh (Amy) Koch and Amanda Niccole (Ryan) Peiffer; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Wayne Koch; her former husband, Chester Ralph Koch, Sr.; and siblings, Milton Earl George and Betty Louise Cooper.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Duane Knittel officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.

The family is grateful for the excellent care Veronica received and asks that memorial contributions be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201-25th St., Portsmouth, OH 45662.
