Vickie Lee Iverson, born in Flint, Michigan, on July 30, 1945, passed away on March 8, 2019, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was surrounded by her daughter Lisa and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Iver Eric Iverson, her parents, Robert and Eugenia Gossel, and her infant brother, Lawrence Gossel.

Vickie is survived by her 3 children, Christine (John) Fain, Lisa Buesing, and John (MIchelle) Buesing; her beloved granddaughters, Allyson and Lauryn Buesing; and her canine best friend, Dasher. A 1963 graduate of Flushing High School, in Flushing, Michigan, Vickie attended Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She retired from Portage Public Schools in November 2011 after 20 years as a school bus driver.

Vickie was a woman of deep faith, who joined Westminster Presbyterian Church of Portage in 1978 and continued in membership there until her death. She was a choir member, Sunday School teacher, and elder of the church. During her life she was a Girl Scout and Girl Scout Troop Leader and a member of Kalamazoo Area Newcomers for many years.

Vickie enjoyed needle crafts, puzzles, word games, movies, and spending time traveling with family and friends. Memorial contributions can be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1515 Helen Ave, Portage, MI, where a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation with family will precede the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Vickie Lee Iverson (Gossel) please visit our Sympathy Store.
