Victor Hugo Alvear, Sr., 86, of North Bergen, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Monday, December 3, 2018. Victor was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and immigrated to the U.S. in 1969. He also lived in Bergenfield and Rutherford before recently moving to North Bergen.

Victor enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with his family. Victor was the beloved husband of 64 years to Ginger Maria Alvear (nee Neira Silva); Devoted father of Fernando & Barbara Rubio, Victor & Evelyn Alvear, Xavier & Sandra Alvear, Eduardo & Milagro Alvear, Raphael & Marta Alvear, Fabrizio & Kathy Alvear; loving grandfather of Marcus, Daniel, Todd, Priscilla, Jessica, Casey, Paul, Gabriela, Amanda, Jesenia, Lucas and Javier; cherished great-grandfather of Kayla, Alex, Angel and Liam; dear brother of Jose & Elsie Alvear; also survived many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation is on Thursday, December 6, 2018, 10:00am to 12:00pm at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd.

, Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS Navigation it is best to use parking lot entrance address: 14 Stagg St.). A Religious Service will begin 12:00pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
