Vincent T. Rampollo, a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, maintained an active lifestyle that included the spiritual disciplines of Yoga, Tai Quan Do, and Tai Chi, which he also taught. He was also an avid walker, skier and golfer. A native of Detroit, Vince began his work life helping his father sell fresh produce from the back of a Model A Ford.

He was later employed in construction and worked for National Waterlift (now Parker Hannifin) in Kalamazoo. An advocate of lifelong learning, he returned to school and earned a bachelor’s degree in holistic health at Western Michigan University in 1990. Vince was an active volunteer, contributing hundreds of hours of service at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Battle Creek.

He was also a leader and trainer in Recovery in Ann Arbor, where he lived for several years, and was a member of Interaction in Kalamazoo, of which he served as president. He was an intern at the Farm, a learning center in Martin, MI, run by Neil and Pat Lamper. He was also involved in Dale Carnegie and Toastmasters and was a movie buff, especially films from the 1930’s, 1940’s, and 1950’s.

Vince was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Student Parish in Kalamazoo and was involved in its men’s group for several years. More recently he attended St. Augustine Cathedral. Family and friends were particularly important to Vince.

Survivors include his sister: Rosemary Nagy and her husband, Jim, of Troy, MI and their children: Jenene, Jimmie and Joy; his brother: Dominic Rampollo of Los Angeles; Donna, Danny, and Dorie, the children of his late sister, Josephine (Walter) Zetterlund; and his former spouse: Joyce. Special friends include Nancy Drake, Mike Matthews, Joseph Neiman, Sandy Nicholson, John Pearson, Lowell Rinker, Betty Sugas, and Marlene Tucker. He is preceded in death by his parents: Sarah and Vincenzo (Jim) Rampollo of Detroit, originally from Sicily; and his sisters: Josephine Zetterlund and Anne (Pingree) Bertanzi.
