Vincent Thomas Guinta, 84, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 surrounded by family at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray Utah. Vince was born and raised in Brooklyn New York, the son of Salvatore and Antoinette Guinta. He was a 1952 graduate of the Brooklyn Boys High School, and a 1956 graduate of the University of Wyoming.

Vince was an accomplished football player at the University of Wyoming. He was a three-time letterman, playing linebacker on defense and center on offense. Vince was an honorable mention All-America in 1955 and 1956.

He was a member of the of the Cowboy’s winning 1955 Sun Bowl team and on the 1956 undefeated Skyline Championship team. His 1956 team was inducted into the University of Wyoming Athletics Hall of fame in 2001. Vince was also inducted in University of Wyoming Athletics hall of fame as an individual player in 2017.

The young man from Brooklyn, NY was proud to be a WYOMING Cowboy! Vince played professional football for the Denver Broncos and the New York Titans. He spent most of his career as a teacher and coach.

He taught art and physical education, coached football and wrestling at Rock Springs, WY High School, Long Beach, NY High School, Wheatland, WY High School and finally Kemmerer, WY High School. Vince and his wife Jayne owned and operated several businesses in Kemmerer, Wyoming including: Paisans Pizza, Music Center/Video Time, Bridgerland Polaris, and Cowboy Bail Bonds. He was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Vince loved sharing his life’s stories, he was proud of his accomplishments, and simply loved sharing memories of the “good ole days”. Vince had a passion for restoring and collecting vintage cars and attending car shows. He loved his morning coffee group and lunch at the Sr. Center in both Kemmerer and Cottonwood, AZ where he wintered.

While in AZ he was an active member of the Elk’s, (2014-2015 Elk of the Year) and Moose Clubs, Sons of the American Legion and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He was preceded in death by his wife Jayne, his brother Sal (Jr. ), and son in law Larry Kominsky.

His is survived by his children Gina Kominsky and Vincent J. (Linda) Guinta. His grandchildren Vincent J. (Emily) Guinta, Brooklyn (Jared) Riding, Spencer (Susie) Hanney, Candice (Gentry) Densley, A.J (Kimberly) Guinta and Erica (Marcus) Berge and great grandchildren Mason, Ashlyn, Dustee, Otto, Tylee, Ruby, Flora, Vincent M., Dillon and baby Densley due next month. Rosary and funeral services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kemmerer, Wyoming with the Rosary being held on Thursday, May 16, at 7:00 pm and funeral service on May 17 at 10:00 a.m. and interment at 2:00 pm in Evanston, Wyoming.
