Viola C. (Elliott) Fights, 76, died Friday, November 23, 2018, in her residence. She was born on January 9, 1942, in Dunkirk, to the late Charles and Margaret (Rupe) Elliott. She attended Bible Tabernacle in Muncie.

She enjoyed visiting the elderly, gardening, and flowers. Viola leaves to mourn her death and celebrate her life: her husband of 58 years, Alfred Fights; step-daughters: Jeanie Latham, Shirley Wolford, and Betty Wyatt; sister: Mary Bollinger; and sisters-in-law: Janet Rector; Beatrice Nash; Barbara Black; Patricia Gillespie; Barbara Fights; and Virginia Fights; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Albert Elliott; and sisters: Mabel Walters and Alice Elliott.

Viola’s family would especially like to thank her wonderful neighbors Dave and Sue Rodgers and Jeremiah and Rebecca Frehen. Arrangements were entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, Jones-Smith Chapel, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana where a visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 11am – 1pm. The funeral service will follow at 1pm, with burial at Matthews Cemetery, Matthews.

Following the graveside service there will be a memorial dinner served at the Matthews Community Center.
