Mrs. Viola (Cash) Houston, age 75 of Brodhead, Ky. passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Rockcastle Hospital. She was born on Jan.

8, 1944 in Brodhead, Ky. , a daughter of the late Arch Lee and Artie Payne Cash. Viola was of the Baptist Faith and found great joy in embroidery, word search and bird watching.

On Dec. 23rd, 1960 she was united in holy matrimony to Jim Houston, and they enjoyed 48 years of marriage prior to his passing on May 4, 2009. Those left to celebrate her life are her siblings: Walter Lee and Christeen Cash of Brodhead, Ky; Eddie and Mary Nevell Cash of Brodhead, Ky; Vernon Cash of Brodhead, Ky.

and Ethylene Cash of Brodhead, Ky. A special niece and caregiver, Marlene Holbrook of Brodhead, Ky. Sister-in-law: Jean Cash of Brodhead, Ky.

; Brother-in-laws: Edd Shepherd of Liberty, Ky; Gordon Abney of Brodhead, Ky; Bill Houston and Lois of Atlanta, Ga. ; and Tony Houston and Joan of Pleasant Plain, Ohio. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters: Shelby Abney, Preda Shepherd, Melberta Robbins and infant sister, Anna Elizabeth Cash; brothers: Lloyd Cash, Paul Ray Cash and wife Judith; nephew: Jerry Lee Cash and sister-in-law: Alma Smith and husband John. Visitation for Mrs.Viola Houston will be Tuesday, May 28th, 2019 from 11AM-1PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28th, 2019 at 1PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro.

Buford Parkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.
