Viola’s Obituary Viola K. Keith, age 109 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Manor Court in Freeport. She was born December 11, 1909 in German Valley; the daughter of William and Irene (Brauer) Borchers. She Married Herbert Keith on April 16, 1930; he passed in 1990.

She graduated from Pleasant Prairie Academy of German Valley and attended Mr. Morris College. She taught rural school before her marriage. She later worked at Block & Kuhl and also as a dental assistant.

Viola also volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of Zion Church of Freeport where she belonged to the Fellowship Bible Circle and the Naomi & Amity Societies. She was one of the first residents at Liberty Village when they opened.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Doris) Keith of Freeport; daughter, Marilyn (Lewis) Myers of Freeport; grandchildren, Kelly Myers, Tami (Bobby) Lawson, Casey (Brenda) Myers, Rory Myers, Andrew (Andrea) Myers, Kevin (Mary) Keith, Kurt (Laurie) Keith, and Kathi (Kevin) Fullerton; 18 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. A private family service will be held.

Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. Condolences may be share at www. walkermortuary.com.
