Obituary for Virgil Leonard Deel Virgil Leonard Deel, age 85, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. He was born in Buchanan County and was the son of the late Leck and Tracy Deel. He had made his home in the Richlands area most of his life and was a retired miner from Pittston Coal Company.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Survivors are: His Wife of 64 years: Chloe Deel Daughter: Eva Reynolds and husband, Keith of Richlands, Virginia Sons: Avery Deel and wife, Lenel of Pounding Mill, Virginia Clayton Deel and wife, Juli of Panama City, FL Jeffrey Deel of Idamay, WV Five Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Virgil Deel will be conducted Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Jerry Matney, Rev.

Billy Campbell, and Rev. William McClanahan officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Members of Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call after 6pm on Monday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
