Virginia Clark Hall, our Mother, was born on January 14, 1925 to John W. and Ethel Smith Clark. Mother was married to Jesse Daniel Hall, Jr. (Buddy) for 44 years, until his passing in 1987. Mother was taken to heaven by her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, May 29.

Mother was predeceased by her parents; “Her Buddy”; her sister, Betty Ann Clark Scott; her second born, beautiful daughter, Ginny Hall-Roberts; and two grandbabies. She is survived by three daughters, Joy Garwood (Frankie), Cindy Simmons (Keith), and Selwyn Hall-Matthews. She is also survived by six grandchildren, loved dearly by her.

Shawn Vaden Carpenter (Tim); Jadie Wilson Fogle (Darren); Daniel Simmons (Murlette); Jay Matthews (Jenne); John Simmons (Lisa); and Michael Matthews (Taylor). Mother has 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother J. W. Clark (Martha) and many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.

Her niece, Dale, was especially caring to mother and, we daughters are so appreciative of all she did for Mom. Mother leaves a legacy of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and, in believing in Him one can be saved. Mother was very interested in current events, the world over.

She worried about the sin and evil in the world. She worried, but she prayed Harder! Her love of family cannot be surpassed, because she cared and sacrificed for her children and grandchildren.

Finally, our Mother’s love of music brought great joy to her and to her children. She had perfect pitch, and she could sing tenor, soprano, or alto with a talent seldom heard. We thank the Lord Jesus that “Miss Virginia” was our Mother.

Our family wants to extend the warmest of thanks and love to her wonderful caregivers at Mill Place, and Salem Towne. They loved and cared for our Mother as if she were their own. Mom’s funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev.

Dennis Collins officiating. Her body will be laid to rest beside “Her Buddy” at the Oak Summit Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, June 1, 2019 beginning at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
