Virginia’s Obituary Virginia “Ginny” Ruth Smith, 73, of Gastonia, passed away, Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas. She was born in Passaic County, NJ, daughter of the late Angelo Fascella and Stella Rzegota Fascella. Ginny was a member of Bethlehem Church.

She loved gardening and to travel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Patterson (Jim), Angela King and Jennifer Brock; brothers, Dennis Fascella (Audrey); grandchildren, Matt Patterson (Catherine), Breanna Patterson (Tanner), Paul Brock, Ben King and Pesamino Brock; great-grandchild, Jaxon Patterson; nieces and nephew, Suzie Smith, Lisa Faulk and Dennis Fascella Jr.; and best friends, Rosie and Bill Jory.

A celebration of life, officiated by Pastor Dickie Spargo will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Bethlehem Church – 3100 Bethlehem Church St, Gastonia, NC 28056. Family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice – (The Robin Johnson House) PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
