Obituary for Virginia Irene Miller MILLER, VIRGINIA I. Of Kalamazoo Virginia Irene Miller, age 100, went home to be with her Lord on May 7, 2018. Virginia was born October 14, 1917 in Dongola, Illinois, the daughter of William and Cora (Lingle) Mowery. On December 2, 1956, she was united in marriage to Bernoid L. Miller, living in Ullin, Illinois and raising their daughter.

Following the death of her husband in 1985, Virginia moved to where her daughter lived in Nevada and California. Then was brought to Kalamazoo area to live with her sister, Margaret Short, and was a Kalamazoo resident the past 25 years. She had attended the Berean Baptist Church in Portage, Michigan.

Virginia enjoyed quilting, crocheting and she especially enjoyed winning bingo prizes. For the past 8 years, Virginia resided at the Upjohn Community Care Center. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her siblings (Margaret Short, Minnie Mick and Louis Mowery) and two nephews (Robert Mowery and Carroll Dean Short).

Surviving are her daughter Kendra (Douglas) Anderson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation or services. A private graveside will be held in Mt.
