Virginia Mae “Jenny” Cochran October 31, 1933 – May 27, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Virginia Mae ‘Jenny’ Cochran, 85, of Hutchinson, died Monday, May 27, 2019, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born October 31, 1933, in Wamego, to Joseph Anthony and Genevieve (Weltsch) Lenherr. Virginia graduated from Flush High School, Flush, Kansas, in 1951.

She retired March 3, 2006, as a certified nursing assistant and certified medication aide at Hilltop Manor, Cunningham. Virginia enjoyed gardening and collecting windmills and lighthouses. She was an avid animal lover, especially dogs.

Virginia’s greatest love was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Virginia was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson.

Virginia is survived by: children, Roxane Medlam (Danny) of Burrton, Ray Cochran (Erin) of Lake City, Michigan, Kitty Barran of Issaquah, Washington, Jill Carraher (Chris) of Tonganoxie; brother, David Lenherr; sister, Kathleen Noll (Don); grandchildren, Nathanael Medlam (Amy), Ethan Medlam, Kyle Cochran (Jen), Benjamin Cochran, Alexander Barran, Nicholas Barran; and great-grandsons, Aiden and Malachi Medlam and Noah and Finley Cochran. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Giles Lenherr, John Lenherr, Bernard Lenherr; sisters, Margaret Hysell, her twin sister, Vivian Daywalt; and the father of her four children, Robert, who died January 8, 2011. Parish Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Church of the Holy Cross, with Father Michael Kerschen officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. The casket will remain closed.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends following the Rosary at the church. Memorials may be made to Cause for Paws, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
