Virginia S Kilpatrick, March 17, 1921 — December 09, 2018

Obituary for Virginia S. Kilpatrick Marjorie Virginia Stewart Kilpatrick, age 97 of Conyers, died Sunday, December 9, 2018. Virginia was born in Milstead, GA on March 17, 1921. She was the oldest of five children.

After high school graduation she applied for admission to nursing school in Birmingham, AL. She finished training in three years and returned home to begin her dream career at Emory Hospital. Soon she worked for the first clinic established in the Rockdale County Health Department and was later asked to set up the nursing department at the soon-to-be-built Rockdale Hospital.

Years later she retired as Director of Nursing Services at Crawford Long Hospital from a career spanning 35 years. Virginia was married to husband, Josh for 52 wonderful years before his death in 1994. Both were loyal members of Crossroads United Methodist Church.

She is survived by daughters, Dr. Pam Erdman (Don) of Stone Mountain, GA and Penny Robinson of Conyers, GA; grandchildren, Justin (Erin) Erdman of Tucker, GA, Rachel (Dr. Jerry Luciani) of Fairview, TX, Josh Erdman (Christian) of New York, Dr. Rich Robinson (Michelle) of Conyers, GA; sister, Barbara Finlayson of Conyers, GA; great-grandchildren, Josh Erdman, Grant and Amira Luciani, Dane Robinson; nieces and nephews. The funeral service and reception will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Scot Ward’s Green Meadow Chapel; a visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be private.
