OBITUARY W. Ellen Darling May 5, 1939 – January 4, 2019 W. Ellen Darling, 79, of Overland passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2019. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jemima H. McCorkle and her sister, Kay (Donald) Muenks. Ellen is survived by her brother, Floyd (Joan) Darling, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Floyd (Susan) Darling III, Heather (Dennis) Rowland, Jeremy Darling, Donna (Vince) Rawlings, Mary Beth (Bob) Hanna, Mark (Nicole) Muenks, and Andrew Muenks; 16 great nieces and nephews; and her best friend since high school, Rosalie (Bob) Phelps and her children, Alan (Lisa) Phelps and Jennifer Phelps.

Ellen led a life of faith and was a member of Fee Fee Baptist Church. She had a very active life and enjoyed international travel and spending fun and quality time with her family. She was an animal lover and provided a home for any stray that happened upon her.

Ellen helped out whenever she could and volunteered time and money for many causes including little sisters of the poor, teaching adults to read and working with children through the Big Sisters of St. Louis. She also made charitable contributions to many local organizations as well as adopting families in needy countries. She was bright, funny, and very artistically talented.

Her wit and kind spirit will be missed. Friends may visit on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel in St. Ann .
