Wade’s Obituary Wade Murphy Burt of Houlka passed away on May 5, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born February 3, 1953 to James Sid Burt and Bobbye Murphy Turner in Houston, Mississippi, Wade was 66. After graduating High School, Wade obtained his Associate’s Degree from Northwest Community College.

His education continued at Ole Miss, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education and Masters in Administration. Many would remember Mr. Burt as the former Principle of Vardaman Elementary School. Other career stops included teaching at Coffeeville, Calhoun City, and Pontotoc.

A lifelong member of Victory Baptist Church, Wade loved to farm cattle and row crops. He touched many lives in his 66 years through friendships, family, and students alike. As we mourn his passing, we can take comfort in knowing Wade was called home to a better place.

Wade leaves behind his Wife, Deborah Byars Burt of Houlka; Sons John Burt and Jason Burt of Houlka; Daughter Gency (Keith) Snellings of Houlka; and Grandson Andrew Snellings of Houlka. There will be a morning visitation with the family on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 10:00 am until Noon at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. Immediately following visitation at Noon, a funeral service celebrating Wade’s life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home.

Brother Danny Kelly will officiate funeral services, with Brother Darrell Logan assisting. Following funeral services, Wade will be laid to eternal rest at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Vardaman. Serving the family as Pallbearers will be Bill Aron, Bryan Byars, Bryan Neely, Wes Neely, Andrew Snellings, and Kenny Tallant.

Wade was preceded in death by his Mother and Father; Granddaughter Lindsey Allene Snellings; and Brother Tony Burt. Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted by the Burt Family with making arrangements honoring Wade’s life.
