Walter H. Skonezney, Jr. September 16, 1941 – January 11, 2019 SKONEZNEY, Walter H. Jr. – Of Flint, age 77, died Friday, January 11, 2019 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating. Cremation will take place following the Mass.

Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Born: September 16, 1941 Death: January 11, 2019 A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Skonezney will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass.

Walter was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania on September 16, 1941, the son of Walter and Rachael (Bricker) Skonezney. He graduated from Dunbar Township High School, PA in 1959. He had been married to Julia for 52 years.

He loved to golf with his family and friends, loved his family time In Northern Michigan and spending time with his 3 grandkids, who were the apple of his eye. He also loved westerns, watching his beloved Steelers, Tigers and Red Wings. Mr. Skonezney was employed by GM from 1967-1995.

Surviving are wife, Julia; two daughters, Michele and husband Eric Case and Kimberly and husband Brian Bohr; 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Allison and Tyler. siblings, Richard, Shirley Fuse, Ken and Linda DuSold, all of Pennsylvania, He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter, Sr. and Rachael and sister, Katherine Robbins.
