Walter Wayne Strong, 67, of South Haven, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Bronson Hospital in South Haven. He was born June 17, 1951 to Velma and Willie James Strong in Gary, Indiana. Walter graduated from South Haven High School with the Class of 1970.

Walter enjoyed singing and was known for his good voice. He was also a talented cook known for his famous potato salad. He was a champion on the Bohn Aluminum Bowling League.

He was a former member of the Emmanuel Community Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife – Joan, and son – Ryan Strong, brothers – Richard, Lowell, Charles, Emmett, and Melvin Lasenby; Ronald Strong, and sisters – Marlene Williams and Charlene Lasenby. Special Nieces – Donna Cunningham, Desiree Wilson, and O’Linda Lasenby.

Walter is survived by his daughters – Lisa (Barry) Strong o Chicago and Jetaun Strong of Dallas Texas, and grandson Ryan, and sisters – Sandra Pye of South Haven. , Evelyn (Johnnie) Green of Gary, Indiana, and Olivia Lasenby of Detroit. And a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
