Obituary for Wanda Mary McGuire (Smith) Print Wanda Mary (Smith) McGuire Cutler Wanda Mary (Smith) McGuire , 80 , passed away January 24, 2019 at the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. She was born November 12, 1938 in East Machias the daughter of the late Ken and Kathryn (Cole) Smith. She graduated from Washington Academy as Salutatorian of the class of 1957.
She married Ronald V. McGuire on April 22, 1957, and shared 60 years together. She worked at Washington County Homemaker Service , Looks Canning Company, as well as made wreaths at home. She was an avid reader of Nora Roberts books, and loved to go to yard sales.
She also enjoyed the time she spent on the road traveling with Ronnie to Florida and California, during the winters. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother Peter Smith, and a very special friend Barbie McGuire. She is survived by her three daughters- Terri Beam and husband Danny , Debra Nason and husband Sanford, and Cathy Lajoie and husband Michael ; seven grandchildren – Andrew and Alan Beam , Ashley Kilton , Heather and Amanda Sprague , Cami Hood , and Sherry Dunlavey; five great grandchildren – Rhyley and Aubree Beam, Addison Kilton , Troy Hood ,and Rev Sprague LaRochelle ; two very special friends Norma Maker, and Pat Taylor.
The family wishes to express deep appreciation to the Staff at Eastport Memorial Nursing Home for the kind care Wanda received for the last 18 months of her life. A Celebration of her Life and graveside services will be held at a later date. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.
