Obituary for Weaver Lafferty Graveside service for Weaver G. Lafferty, 81, of Rio Vista was held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Rio Vista Cemetery. Weaver G. Lafferty passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 in Cleburne. He was born July 26, 1936 in Patmos, Arkansas to Weaver Andrew and Lillian V. Bennett Lafferty.

He married D. Laverne McCain on June 11, 1960 in Marietta, Oklahoma. Mr. Lafferty served in the United States Air Force. He was an accomplished electrical engineer.

During the years following serving in the USAF, he worked developing missile systems at Hughes Aircraft Company in Culver City, CA. , Texas Instruments in Dallas, TX and Raytheon in Lewisville and Plano, TX. Survivors include his beloved wife, Laverne Lafferty of Rio Vista; daughters, Denise Lafferty of Cleburne and Kelly Cate and husband Charlie of Frost; grandchildren, Jesse, John, and Emma; and a sister, Shirley Kay Harris of Plano.
