Obituary for Mr. Wendell Lee Middleton Wendell Lee Middleton, born January 30th, 1967 to William Middleton, Sr. (deceased) and Barbara Middleton, departed this life to begin another in eternity with the Lord on October 18th, 2018. Wendell matriculated in Charleston, South Carolina public schools receiving his high school diploma from Burke High School in 1985. Wendell received his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the Fort Valley State University in 1989.
Wendell graduated from FVSU’s R.O.T.C. program as a Distinguished Military Graduate and received his active duty commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army’s Field Artillery Corp where he served from 1989 – 1995. Having received an honorable discharge as a decorated Captain and Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm War Veteran, Wendell continued his distinguished service to the United States by serving overseas training the Afghan National Army and other Ally forces.
At the time of his death, Wendell was looking to establish an Interpreters Firm to again support his country and continue his legacy of service. Wendell loved to travel and visited over 50 different countries only missing the continents Antarctica and Australia. He loved country music, the Steelers, laughing and enjoying life to the fullest.
Most of all, he loved his family. He will be sorely missed by all who was blessed to be touched by his life and his love. Wendell is preceded in death by his loving Father, William Middleton, his sister, Willie Mae Major, brother John Thomas Middleton and brother Marvin Weston.
Wendell is survived by his loving Mother, Barbara (William) Middleton; children, William Lee Middleton (mother/former wife Kellie), Wendell Lee Middleton II, McGarvey “Mick” Shatto, Elizabeth Shatto, (mother/former wife Michelle); siblings Kershaw (Stacey) Weston, Earl Weston, Yvette Doster, Yvonne (Richard) Gadsen, Barbara Ann (Harold) Corley, Mary Francis Middleton, William (Margaret) Middleton Jr, Herbert J. Middleton, Alfreda Middleton, Christopher C. Middleton, Madie S. Andrews; cousin/brother/best friend Theodore (Teddy) Weston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial service will be held at the W. M.
