Wesner Eugene Southern, 82 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Columbus Hospice House. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 beginning at 1:30pm ET at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Alabama. Wesner was born April 19, 1936 in Gadsden, Alabama to Beechum Southern and Emily Simpson Southern.

He retired from the United States Army after serving 24 years and worked in property management. Surviving are his loving wife, Beverly Southern; son, Patrick Southern and 3 daughters, Rachel Dalton, Alisa Caldwell and Starla Woodruff.
