Obituary of Wilbert O. Cooper Wilbert O. Cooper, 85, of 102 Barrows St., passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on Oct. 9, 1933 in Collierstown, VA, a son of the late Garfield and Evelyn Bannister Cooper.

Before retiring in 2006, he was employed by the City of Jamestown Sanitation Dept. for 36 years, Wilbert is survived by his four sons: Charles (Linda) Glover, Michael (Lisa) Glover, Allan (Georgina) Glover, Joseph (Jody) Glover Sr.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister Ophelia “Dolly” Payne of Lexington, VA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, JoeAnn Hayhurst, whom he married Dec.

20, 1974 and who passed away on Feb. 27, 2008; five brothers; and six sisters. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 in the Lind Funeral Home.

The Rev. Timothy Phelps, Hospice Chaplain will officiate. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Hospice for their compassionate care of Wilbert, especially Michelle and Kim. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave. , Lakewood, NY 14750.
