Obituary for Wilbur Arthur Leibbrand Dr. Wilbur A. Leibbrand, DVM, age 94, of Hastings, passed away on July 24, 2018. Wilbur graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1953 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Over the course of his career, he worked in private practice (Little Falls and Hastings, MN), for the USDA (Minneapolis and Kearney, NE), and as a college Professor at the U of M Waseca.

He loved fishing, hunting (grouse were his favorite) and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Elsie Leibbrand; grandson, Keenan McAlees. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor; children, Douglas (Launa) Leibbrand, Richard (Dana) Leibbrand, Kathy (Terry) Swanson, David (Sindy) Leibbrand; grandchildren, Andrew, Corey, Samuel, Willem, Michael and Mathew Leibbrand, Jay and Jaclynn Swanson; step-grandchildren, Pat, Pete and Paul Swanson, and Whitney Petrie; and 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Faye Leibbrand and Amy Juni; many other loving relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday (7/30) at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection United Methodist Church of Hastings, 615 15th St. W., Hastings. A visitation will be held Sunday (7/29) from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment, Spirit Hill Cemetery, Jordan, MN.
