Obituary for Wilbur L. Eggert Wilbur L. Eggert November 1, 1928-December 8, 2018 Wilbur L. Eggert, 90, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Golden Living Center – Fountainview Terrace in La Porte, Indiana. He was born November 1, 1928 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Lewis Eggert and Laura (Hacker) Eggert. Wilbur was a self employed farmer for sixty years.
He served in the United States Army from 1951-1952. Wilbur was a former La Porte County 4-H leader and a member of the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed doing puzzles, playing card games, dancing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
On February 12, 1955, in LaPorte, he married Mary Huge Eggert who survives in La Porte, Indiana. He is also survived by his four sons, Raymond (Laura) Eggert of Mill Creek, IN, Ronald (Cindy) Eggert of La Porte, IN, Randall (Alynn) Eggert of La Porte, IN, Roger (Narcine) Eggert of La Porte, IN; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Lewis Eggert of Mill Creek, IN; sister-in-law, Maxine Eggert, La Porte, IN. Wilbur was preceded in death by both his parents; three sisters, Katherine Small, Louise Mrozinski, Betty Routt; brother, Norman Eggert.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave. , LaPorte, Indiana where the family will receive friends Friday, December 14, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Vale officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana.
