Obituary for Wilford “Bill” Carol Lester Wilford Carol “Bill” Lester, 85, of Nortonville, KY passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville. He was born June 28, 1933 in Crofton, KY to the late Leonard Lester and Bessie Johnson Lester. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Fay Grace Lester; one sister, Dorothy Barnes, and two brothers, Norman Pennington and Richard Pennington.

Mr. Lester worked at U.S. Sugar Mill in Clewiston, FL, P&M Coal Company, Colonial Mines and Gibraltar Mines. He was a Korean War Veteran and started the War Memorial in Nortonville. He was also a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Nortonville.

He is survived by one daughter, Sandy (Tony) Hook of Nortonville; one grandson, Patrick (Ashley) Hook of Evansville, IN; and one great granddaughter, Lilliana Hook of Evansville. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Pennington and Bro.

Steve Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville. Hopkins County Honor Guard will be conducting military graveside rites.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday with a Mason Service at 6:30 P.M. and from 11:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mark Gamble, Marty Gamble, Tony Hook, Patrick Hook, Alonzo Pennington, and Larry Pennington.
