William A. “Butch” Hayes, Jr., 65 of Chillicothe passed away on Thursday evening, December 20, 2018 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus following a brief two-week illness. He was born June 10, 1953 in Chillicothe, the son of William A. Hayes, Sr. and Shirley (Parker) Hayes. He leaves behind his adoring wife, Jane Irene (Kellough) Hayes whom he married July 1, 1989.

Also surviving are his children, Billy C. Hayes, M. Jeremie Hayes, Shane A. Hayes: a step-daughter, Amy Clemmons Moonen; 9 grandchildren, one being his little buddy, Kadynce whom he cherished; 2 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, Debbie (Scott) Dyke, Lynn (Roger) Demint and Jim (Beth) Hayes. He was preceded in death by parents and his grandparents, the Hayes and Parkers. Bill was a 1971 graduate of Chillicothe High School and worked for many years as an automobile detailer.

He was a member of American Legion Post 62 and loved to fish. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will be under the direction of the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME.

There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to his wife to assist with medical expenses. “You went home at our favorite time of year, but you had to go.
