BAER, William J., Sr. “Bill”. Cherished son of the late Bessie Mae (nee Brandt) Vollmer. Beloved husband of the late Fleda M. (nee Durbin) Baer.

Devoted father of William J. (Susan) Baer, Jr. and Donald A. (Anita) Fricke. Dear father in law of Penny Kinney. Loving grandfather of Daniel M. Baer and Dyanna M. Baer.

Dear cousin of William (Ursula) Brandt. Also survived by many other family and friends near and far; and many special caregivers. William retired from Procter & Gamble and served as a Greenhills Fire Department volunteer for 27 years.

He retired as fire chief after serving from 1985-1990. Bill was a member of the Lafayette Masonic Lodge #483 and a member of The Ohio Fire Chiefs’ Association. William passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 4, 2018 at the age of 83 years.

Friends may greet the family at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pk. , Springdale, OH 45246 on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:30 AM. Lafayette Masonic Lodge #483 F&AM and Scottish Rite Ring Service will begin at 10:45 AM.

Burial will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions, in William’s memory, may be made to Greenhills Fire Department, 11000 Winton Rd. , Greenhills, OH 45218.
