William “Bill” Baur passed away peacefully in Myrtle Point on May 30, 2018 after living several years with Parkinson’s Disease. His family will gather later this summer to honor him. Bill was born May 20, 1940 in Petaluma, California to Christian and Dora Baur.

He was the youngest of three children. Growing up on the family ranch in Petaluma is where Bill’s love for animals and involvement with 4-H began. In his teens he showed livestock at the Cow Palace in California and in 1959 he attended the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago.

Later in 1968 he married his wife, Dolores, and they had two children. In 1977 Bill and his family moved to Myrtle Point. He continued his passion for 4-H by becoming a leader along with his wife.

He enjoyed hunting and especially woodworking. He is remembered for the beautiful furniture he built, and his love for animals and nature. Bill is survived by his son Ed Baur and his daughter Arlene Hyatt.

He was proud of his grandchildren: Tasia and Garet Hyatt, Storm and Skylar Baur, Jace and D’Cota Fry, Stephie Carr and great-grandson Duane. He will be greatly missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores, his parents and older brother, Robert.

His family would like to thank the staff at Myrtle Point Care Center for caring for him for the last few years.
